Wedding and Reception in One Place
It’s happening. The world is evolving, and people who want to spend their lives together are approaching the idea of marriage differently than before.
Having the ceremony and the reception in the same place has recently become not only trendy, but—let’s be honest—extremely convenient.
In a world where the “slow life” trend is becoming more popular each year, we’re learning to… let go. That’s what celebrating the most important day in your life is about today.
While organizing weddings in various locations around the world doesn’t surprise anyone anymore, an outdoor wedding still feels like a novelty—especially for Aunt Krysia or Uncle Czesław’s generation.
Still, it’s worth drawing a line down a piece of paper and naming what irritates us and what we dream about. And yes—it’s worth dreaming.
So, is organizing your wedding and reception in one place for everyone?

What Is a Humanist Wedding?
Let’s be honest—getting married in your own rhythm can be magical. Defined by your own rules, your own ideas, and a unique location.
A humanist wedding is the epitome of this concept.
It stands alongside traditional church and civil ceremonies, but it doesn’t have legal power. Still, it’s deeply meaningful to the couple—and that makes it socially significant.
To make it official, couples usually opt for a civil ceremony with witnesses as a formality.
A humanist wedding has a custom script, a jointly planned ceremony, and vows written in your own words—and those words can absolutely bring a tear to the eye.
Humanist weddings often happen outdoors. This idea can also inspire couples to organize the entire reception outside. And when it comes to possibilities… imagination, come forth! 🙂

A Wedding in Your Own Rhythm
Natural wedding décor is getting more and more popular every year. Boho style, muted tones, leafy greens—this aesthetic is at the top of current wedding trends.
Such settings lead to truly one-of-a-kind wedding reportages. The scenery alone creates an opportunity to show the couple’s natural side—something photographers truly appreciate.
But organizing an outdoor wedding and reception isn’t without its challenges.
It’s worth the effort, but yes, it can be stressful—mostly because of the weather, which is hard to sign a contract with 😉
But don’t worry—with the help of an outside vendor, you can easily rent a tent and keep the whole event sheltered. This idea fits perfectly with a boho wedding—or really, any outdoor celebration.
Another reason to plan your entire wedding day in one place? We think so.
Church or Civil Ceremony Outdoors?
There are many factors that influence the type of ceremony you choose—mainly your relationship with faith or the church. But that’s not what this is about.
What matters here is the practicality: organizing a civil ceremony outdoors does come with some paperwork—permits, forms, and official requests.
That said, getting approval for a civil wedding outside is relatively simple compared to what it takes to get a church wedding approved.
You’ll need the bishop’s permission and a very specific reason why the wedding can’t be held inside a church.
Some couples succeed in getting this approval—and to those few, I tip my hat 🙂

Outdoor Wedding Video
Natural shots are priceless.
When everything takes place in one location, couples are generally more relaxed.
They don’t have to worry about traffic between the church and the venue or whether half the family from Lublin gets lost in the woods.
This all affects how the couple feels—and, as a result, how they work with the photographer or videographer.
Having everything in one place creates a cohesive space for storytelling.
Wedding filmmakers have more freedom—they’re not rushing between locations and can focus entirely on the couple in one consistent environment.
There’s no clash of two worlds: the shimmering gold of a church vs. the rustic vibe of a barn.
Here, everything exists in harmony—one world, one tone, one vibe.
All the points mentioned above, combined with the work of a great photographer or filmmaker, result in a cohesive and magical wedding reportage.
Organizing your wedding and reception outdoors is, for many, the dream.
The natural, authentic look it brings to your wedding film will live long in the memory of the newlyweds and their guests.
And people like me—Lot Trzmiela—put our whole hearts into creating lasting memories from your day. And that’s priceless.
